The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on a natural rise on the NE-facing slope of a ridge, in pasture. A circular, grass-covered area (diam. 36.2m N-S; 36.8m E-W) enclosed by a low bank of gravelly clay (Wth 4.5m; int. H 0.7m; ext. H 0.86m; max. ext. H downslope 2m). The external face of the bank has been truncated probably due to cattle and there is a possible entrance gap (Wth 3.6m) in the NE quadrant. No fosse visible above ground. The interior has traces of lazy beds, aligned N-S, on the E side and possible smaller beds in the W portion aligned E-W.

The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
