The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on an E-facing slope in hilly pastureland overlooking a valley. The site has been levelled although it is still possible to identify the outline of a rectangular enclosure. On the 1772 estate map the field surrounding the site is entitled 'Lisheen' (1772, NLS 21.F.129). Depicted on the 1st (1840) ed. OS 6-inch map as a roughly square-shaped enclosure, the W side incorporated in a field boundary which truncates the NW corner. By the 2nd ed. (1902) OS 6-inch map the E side is no longer depicted and the remaining S side is less straight. This site is now visible as an irregular enclosure (dims. 31.2m N-S) defined by a low, flattened earthen bank (Wth 4.5m) with no other features visible. The field boundary which formed the W side has also been levelled.

The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
