The National Monuments Service's description

Located on a very flat tract of land on a valley floor with the Nenagh River c. 100m to the N. A circular area defined by a gravelly, clay bank (Wth 1.8m; int. H 0.5m; ext. H 1.12m) which is quite denuded in places. No fosse is evident though there is a slight dip at the base of the bank (Wth c. 1m; D 0.15m). Breaks in the bank occur at SW (Wth 1m) and N (Wth 1.6m). The field boundary depicted on the 1st and current eds. of the OS 6-inch map joining the site at the NW and SE quadrants has been levelled.

The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
