The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on a SW-facing slope of rising ground in an upland region with nearby stream to S and ringforts (TN028-064002, TN028-063) to the NE and N respectively. A rectangular raised area (dims. 14.5m N-S; 26m E-W) enclosed by a bank of earth and stone (Wth 1.5m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 1.7m) and outer waterlogged fosse (Wth 2.5m; D 1m) with causewayed entrance (Wth 4m) at E. Both bank and fosse are destroyed at S.

The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
