The National Monuments Service's description
Situated in a commanding position on the crest of a hill in rolling pastureland. Not depicted on the 1st or latest ed. OS 6-inch map. Identified by Wheeler in 1957 who described it as a low, circular platform surrounded by a fosse (OPW Correspondence, 2-8-95). The site has been levelled but is visible as a roughly circular ring of darker grass and nettles (diam. 35m N-S; 31.4m E-W; Wth 1.6-2m) encircling the hilltop. The interior slopes slightly to the NE.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
