The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on a rise, sloping slightly to the E, in undulating terrain. Four field boundaries converge at this oval enclosure (diam. 34m N-S; 25.4m E-W), which has resulted in an irregular bank profile, the earthen bank being augmented in places including the addition of drystone-walling in E sector (bank dims. Wth 2.7-3m; int. H 0.3-0.7m; ext. H 1.4-2m). The interior is occupied by trees and there is a mound of clay, probably a field dump, in the NW quadrant.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
