The National Monuments Service's description
Located on a W-facing slope in gently undulating pasture. Depicted on the latest ed. OS 6-inch map as a circular area (diam. 36m) with field boundaries skirting the external circumference. The NE quadrant has been completely levelled since the site was last visited in 1957. The site is defined by an earth and stone bank (Wth 2.2m; int. H 0.55; ext. H 0.4m) the external face of which appears to have been truncated. An external fosse was visible at S and W in 1957, however only a very slight fosse is now visible (OPW Correspondence, 2.8.1957). No visible entrance feature.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
