The National Monuments Service's description
In a cashel (SL038-061001-), located c. 2.2km WSW of Bunnanaddan. According to local information, the cashel was used as a burial ground for unbaptised children, the last known burial having taken place in the winter of 1957-8. During an inspection in December 2016, the outlines of 20-30 grass-covered graves were visible. They are rectangular, oval, subcircular or irregular-shaped in plan (sample measurement: c. 1m x c. 0.25m), and are marked by low, uninscribed field stones which barely protrude above the ground surface. A few graves are more clearly defined by low, edge-set stones. The orientation of the long axes of the graves does not appear to follow any pattern.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
