The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, on the crest of a ridge with excellent views. A slightly raised subcircular area (22.5m N-S; c. 21m E-W) defined by a fosse (Wth 6m; D 0.65m) with an external step (Wth 4.2m; H 0.65m) and by an outer earthen bank (Wth 4.2m; ext. H 0.7m). The barrow is poached by cattle and a small portion of the interior has been removed by quarrying. A NW-SE field boundary crosses the NW edge of the interior. A ring-barrow (SL038-056----) lies c. 450m to NNW.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
