The National Monuments Service's description
In Ballindoon Bay, in Lough Arrow and between two other crannogs (SL034-215----; SL034-219001-). Wood-Martin (1886, 246-56), refers to a crannog 'close to the shore of Ballindoon demesne' comprising of 'a large pile of stones, evidently deposited by human agency'. A large reed stand (c. 60m N-S; 20m E-W) growing on a stony shoal in the lake-bed is located at a depth of between 0.9-1.1m below the water. The shoal, which has no distinct edges, consists of small stones with some larger boulders (diam. 1-2m) which occur naturally in many places in Lough Arrow. It is not clear whether this is a natural or man-made feature. A possible jetty or causeway leads out from the N end of an adjacent crannog (SL034-219001-) towards this possible crannog.
