The National Monuments Service's description

Adjacent to a N−S field boundary in the NE corner of a pasture field, located in flat, damp lowlying terrain. Ground rises gently to N. The NE shores of Lough Gill are 580m to S.
This partly levelled burnt mound has been bisected by a N−S field ditch (Wth 1.4m; D 0.6-0.8m)/property boundary. The W half of the mound is still evident as a low D-shaped rise (12m N−S; 6.5m E−W; H 0.3m), bordered on its straight side at E by the field ditch. A low field bank (Wth 0.8-1m; H 0.6m at W) borders the W edge of the field ditch, overlying the burnt mound. The field bank is composed of upcast soil from the ditch, and incorporates burnt stone and black soil. A post and wire fence borders the E side of the field ditch. In the field to E of this, the burnt mound has been levelled, but a difference in grass growth suggests that it extends at least 3m to E of the field ditch.
There is a burnt mound (SL015-134----) 10m to NNW and another (SL015-133----), in an adjoining field, c. 175m to S.

Notified to NMS by Leo Leyden.
