The National Monuments Service's description
On the crest towards the SE end of a low WNW-ESE ridge. Knox (1911, 313-16) describes an attached 'outer garth' to the N and E of moated site (RO034-045002-) enclosed by further fosses and banks, but there is no evidence of these features now.
