The National Monuments Service's description

At the crest of a gentle SE-facing slope of a drumlin with shores of Kilglass Lough c. 200m to the SE, 300m to the NE and 400m to the NW. Subcircular grass-covered area (dims 62.4m E-W; 57.2m N-S) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (Wth 4.4-4.6m; int. H 0.3-0.8m; ext. H 0.4m at E to 1.9m at W) which is incorporated into a field bank NE-SSW, and an outer fosse (Wth of top 4.4-5.2m; Wth of base 2.4-3m; D 0.5m generally to 1.7m at W) which has been removed outside the field bank NE-SSW. There is a modernised entrance (Wth 3m) at ENE, and a pond (dims 5m x 5m) has been dug in the interior just SW of the centre.
