The National Monuments Service's description
At the N end of the central part (dims. c. 1.9 km NNE-SSW; c. 400-600m NW-SE) of Kilglass Lough where it opens into the N part of the lake, and c. 150-200m from the W and E shores. D-shaped overgrown island (dims. 34m NE-SW; 19m NW-SE; H c. 0.4m) with the straight side at SE where the mound has been truncated by a navigation channel. Some of the spoil was added to the summit raising a subrectangular platform (dims. 20m NE-SW; 11m NW-SE; H 0.7m). Reeds indicate a larger sub-surface mound (dims. c. 50m NE-SW; c. 30m NW-SE) and there is evidence of timber construction on the mound.
