The National Monuments Service's description
Located in rough pasture on the E-facing slope of an E-W drumlin ridge. The N-S River Shannon loops eastwards from it c. 500-850m distant NNW-E-S, and the small SW-NE Killukin River is at the base of the drumlin c. 130m to the SE. A pool of the River Shannon, into which the Killukin flows, is c. 170m to the NE. It was first identified by Susan Curran as part of an M.A. thesis with University College Dublin using a LiDAR survey dataset commissioned by Leitrim County Council and the National Roads Authority. This is an oval grass and rush-covered area (dims 32m N-S; 22m E-W) defined by a low earthen bank (at SSE: Wth of base 4.7m; Wth of top 0.9m; int. H 0.1m; ext. H 0.55m) SE-W-NE, which is reduced to scarp (at E: Wth 2.8m; H 0.75m) NE-SE. There is no visible fosse or entrance. Rath (RO011-181----) is c. 170m to the W.
