The National Monuments Service's description
A compact layer (Wth 1.05m; D 0.19m) of irregularly laid twigs and light brushwood in opposing drain faces. The twigs are particularly concentrated towards the NW end of the site. Numerous leaves and buds are noted within the site. Metal-cut toolmarks occur on both the brushwood and twigs. Wood species include birch, hazel and oak. The site sits in well-humified Sphagnum peat with some Eriophorum recorded towards the SE end. It is one of thirteen sites in close proximity in a 30m stretch of this drain and lies between SMR OF015-241---- c. 0.2m to the NW and SMR OF015-244---- c. 0.9m to the SE.
