The National Monuments Service's description

The site (Wth 1.7m; D 0.32m) consists of a compact layer of brushwood in the drain face. The brushwood (diam. 0.01-0.045m) is most compact towards the NW end of the site. The pieces mostly lie in a NE-SW direction. Towards the SW limit, a bed of twigs is recorded c. 0.1m above the level of the site and appears to be a later feature. A number of pieces have metal-cut toolmarks. Wood species include birch, Pomoideae, alder, willow and oak. The site lies in well-humified Sphagnum peat with occasional Eriophorum. It is one of thirteen sites in close proximity in a 30m stretch of this drain and is located c. 0.9m from the SE end of SMR OF015-245---- and 0.3m from the NW end of SMR OF015-246----.
