The National Monuments Service's description

A radially split plank and an off-split on the field surface (L 0.74m; Wth 0.42m; D 0.04m). The elements are irregularly set and do not form a coherent structure. The wood is in poor condition and sits in well-humified Sphagnum peat containing Eriophorum. Dendrochronologically dated to AD 1054±9 or later (Q10130). SMR OF010-476---- is 1m below this site. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 2001. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
