The National Monuments Service's description
: Located on a rise at the SW end of a NE-SW ridge. This is a circular grass-covered area (diam. 38m WNW-ESE; 36m NNE-SSW) defined by a scarp (at SSE: H 1.45m) that is planted with trees except N-SSE. The scarp has been steepened into an almost vertical face with a modern field bank at the base SSE-W-N. There is a slight ramp entrance at E, which might be the original entrance.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
