The National Monuments Service's description
Located on top of one of many summits of an E-W drumlin ridge. This is a circular overgrown area (diam. 23.5m WNW-ESE; 23m NNE-SSW) defined by a small but overgrown earth en bank (at W: Wth of base 1.9m; int. H 0.3m; ext. H 1.3m), and outer fosse (Wth c. 1.2m; D c. 0.3m) ENE-SSE. A gap in the scarp at S may be the original entrance.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
