The National Monuments Service's description
Situated just E of the NE of two summits on a NE-SW drumlin ridge. This is a D-shaped grass and scrub-covered area (dims c. 50m NW-SE; c. c. 40m NE-SW) defined by a slight but overgrown earthen bank (at NNE: Wth 5.4m; int. H 0.2m; ext. H 1.7m) NW-E-S, with an outer water-logged fosse (Wth c. 1.8m; ext. D 0. 45m) NE-S that has been re-cut as a drain NW-NE. The monument is cut by a NNW-SSE field bank at W and does not survive beyond it. There is a modern entrance at SE which may be the original one as there are no others.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
