The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on a gentle E-facing slope. Topsoil stripping (02E0194) in advance of a gas pipeline identified two spreads of oxidised clay (BGE: 1A/18/3) which were completely excavated (02E0696). One feature was a shallow circular pit (diam. 0.66m; max. T 0.1m) with dark pink / red clay that was covered by brown clay. A second pit (dims 0.6m x 0.5m; D 0.05m) was 0.9m to the S and had a single fill of dark pink / red clay. There was no evidence of a connecting flue at this severely truncated kiln.
