The National Monuments Service's description
Two limestone plaques, probably from tomb surrounds and sculptured in false relief, are incorporated into the outer walls of the Roman Catholic church of St. James, which was built in the 1830s. This piece is high on the S wall at the E end and depicts a crucifixion with Mary and St John.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
