The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on the summit of Carn Hill with wide views out in every direction. This is a circular grass-covered mound of earth and stones (diam. 21m; H 1.5m) rising sharply (diam. c. 2m; H c. 0.75m) at the centre.
Archaeological testing (06E0761) by F. Bailey and Y. Whitty c. 75m to the S at the closest point produced no related material (excavations.ie 2006:1610). Further archaeological testing (20E0492) by Donald Murphy on the route of a water-pipe c. 300m to the SW at the closest point produced no related material (excavations.ie 2020:223).

This is a National Monument in state ownership: No. 10004.
