The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on a low hill. This is a circular flat-topped and grass-covered mound (diam. of top 13m NE-SW; diam. of base 40m NE-SW; H 5.6m at NE to 7m at SW) with some trees that has a fosse (at NE: Wth of top 7m; Wth of base 2m; ext. D 1.1m) which can be distinguished from the base of the mound WSW-N-E. The parish church of Girley (ME023-015----) is c. 300m to the ESE.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
