The National Monuments Service's description

Situated just E of a summit on a meandering NE-SW esker ridge. This is a grass-covered subcircular area (dims 40m WNW-ESE; 35m N-S) defined by an earthen bank (Wth of base 5.5-6m; int. H 0.2-0.6m; ext. H 1.1-1.5m) and an outer fosse (Wth of top 5-6m; Wth of base 1-1.5m; ext. D 0.6-0.7m) that is eroded away at S and NW-N. There is an outer earth and stone bank (at ESE: Wth of base 3.3m; ext. H 0.3m) with some bushes N-SE. There is an entrance (Wth of base 1.8m) at W, which is probably modern, but the original entrance and causeway (Wth of top 4m; H 0.6m) is at E. Rath (ME022-027----) is c. 40m to the SW.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
