The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on the floodplain on the N bank of a W-E section of the River Boyne at a point where the river begins to turn N within Brú na Bóinne. This feature, which has been recorded as a visible feature known as Site B1 (O’Kelly 1978, 50-1) and is visible on LiDAR, is at the centre of the Small Henge (ME019-138----). It is a small mound (diam. c. 12-15m), but given its position, which is displaced to the SE from the centre of the henge, it may prove to be the remains of a passage tomb. (Condit and Keegan 2018, 125, Figs 116, 117)
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
