The National Monuments Service's description
In average to damp pasture, sited on a low rise, with good but not extensive views over undulating grassland NE–SE and over a flat expanse of bog to W. There is a spring which feeds into a small pool, in a natural dip in ground level to SE, beyond which the ground rises to a low ridge.
Shown on the 1838 OS 6-inch map as a small circular enclosure (diam. c. 10m); not shown on later map editions.
Circular mound (overall diam. 25m N–S; c. 21m E–W; H 1.5m at N, 1.6m at S) with a flat top (11.4m N–S; 10m E–W) and broadly sloping sides (Wth slope 6.5-7m) that merge with the natural contours of the rise.
