The National Monuments Service's description

In pasture, on a ridge, overlooking an expanse of lowlying damp pasture to N.
Circular platform (27.5m N–S; 27m E–W) defined by a drystone wall (c. 3.5m at N, c. 3m at S; int. H 1.4m at S; ext. H 1.45m at N, 1.5m at S). It straddles the natural elevation and is built up on the N half to create a level interior. The earthen scarp of the platform is faced and topped with a wall, which shows evidence of later modification. To NE–SE the wall serves as a property boundary and is bordered externally by a farm road/trackway. The wall at NE–NW is reduced to a low sod-covered rise (Wth 2m), the inner face of which has been subsumed into a later field wall.
A souterrain (MA072-089001-) is located in the SW quadrant, close to the enclosing wall.
There is a depression, obscured by blackthorn and animal burrows, in the SE quadrant. Blackthorn and brambles encroach on the W half of the interior. Heaps of field clearance stones and boulders are piled against the exterior of the cashel at N–NW and at S.
