The National Monuments Service's description

In rough pasture, located on a low ridge, which provides good views. Incorporated into a system of later field walls, with a cluster of ruined vernacular building to SE.
This cashel is named ‘Caher’ on the 1930 OS 6-inch map. Roughly oval area (30.5m ENE−WSW; 34.5m NNW−SSE) enclosed by a drystone wall (Wth 1-1.2m; int. H 0.7m; ext. H 1m, 1.4m at S). The wall is obscured by moss, ivy and scrub, but appears to be rather roughly constructed of small and medium-sized rubble.
In the interior, the NE quadrant is enclosed by a low, grass-covered bank or wall (Wth 1-2m), which curves from the cashel wall at NE to NW, where it terminates at large boulder, 7.5m short of the enclosing wall at NNW. A souterrain (MA072-067002-) -indicated by two areas of surface collapse- is located in the SE quadratn of the interior.
The cashel wall is engulfed in brambles, hawthorn and blackthorn. Long grass and bracken cover the interior. There is a rath (MA072-068001-) 220m to SE and another (MA072-050----) 330m to NW.
