The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, located on a rise, overlooking an expanse of wettish pasture to NE.
Raised circular platform (30.7m N-S; c. 32m E-W) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 2.6m; int. H 0.8m; 3xt. H 1.2m, at SW) on the SW arc, and by a scarp (ext. H 3m at N, 2m at NE) elsewhere around the circuit. The scarp is enhanced on the N arc by a natural fall of ground, and is skirted by a trackway (Wth 3.4m) at NW−N, which is cut into the base of the slope.
A short, discrete length of bank (L 4m; Wth 2m; H 0.5m), with a large boulder on its S side, is located 3m outside the rath scarp at S –this might be a remnant of an original external bank or simply a fragment of a field bank.
The entrance may have been on the S side where the scarp is lowest, but there is no clearly defined gap. The interior slopes down from centre to SE−S. A deep, irregular-shaped quarry pit (max. dim. c. 10m; D 2m) extends through the scarp and into the interior at E.
The perimeter is thickly ringed with hawthorn and ash trees; the interior is grassy.
