The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, in a dense thicket of overgrowth, located on a hill, with a steep fall of ground to S–SW and a gentler slope to N. There are good views to N and SE over lowlying, damp pasture.
Raised, roughly circular platform (diam. c. 30m) defined by an earthen bank (Wth c. 6m; int. H 0.5m; ext. H 2m, at SW) with a low internal lip and a broad external slump, enhanced at S−SW by the hill slope. Remnants of external stone facing are evident at SW, probably the result of incorporation of the rath into a later field system.
There is a terrace (Wth 3.8m) immediately outside the bank at S–SW, defined on its outer edge by a scarp (H 1m), with a slight internal lip (int. H 0.1m), which appears to be cut into a steep natural fall of ground. These features may be the remains of a fosse and external bank.
There is a local tradition of a souterrain (MA072-049001-) in the rath.
Densely covered in hazel, hawthorn and blackthorn scrub.
