The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, prominently sited at the break of slope at the NNW end of a ridge, giving extensive views over the surrounding rolling grassland, especially to NW along a shallow valley of damp pasture. There is a stream/drain c. 200m W.
Roughly circular raised area or platform (31.4m ESE−WNW; c. 35m NNE−SSW) defined by a bank/scarp, incorporating stones in parts. The bank (Wth 3m; int. H 0.3m; ext. H 0.85m at ESE) retains a very low internal lip at E−SE and is reduced to a scarp (Wth slope 3m; ext. H 1.2m at W) elsewhere around the circuit. Sections of the scarp at NW and NE are eroded and dilapidated. There is a low area or break (Wth 2m) at NE.
A souterrain (MA071-034001) occupies the W half of the interior. There appears to be a depression, defined on the S side by a low N-facing scarp (H c. 0.5m), in the NE quadrant but it is engulfed in overgrowth and could not be examined closely.
Hawthorn and blackthorn bushes engulf the E half of the rath perimeter, and blackthorn scrub encroaches at the N and SE of the interior. Another a rath (MA071-033----) is located 230m to NW.
