The National Monuments Service's description

In average pasture, located in gently undulating terrain, bordered to E by a N-flowing stream, and overlooked to E and S by higher ground. A turlough, named Stripe Lough, is indicated towards the southern end of the area on the 1837 OS 6-inch map, but is not shown on the 1919 edition. To N and S are expanses of rough, heather-covered boggy land.
A fragmentary system of relict field walls of unknown date can be discerned preserved within the N−S/E−W grid of modern field walls which define larger, rectangular fields.
The older walls are evident as low, sod-covered stony rises, or as gapped lines of individual stones protruding from hummocks of grass. They tend to extend somewhat counter, often on a NE-SW/NW-SE axis, to the orientation of the modern field walls. They define rectangular, sub-rectangular or irregular-shaped field plots with maximum dimensions of c. 15-50m, with occasional smaller sub-divisions (max. dim. c. 5-10m). They are dotted with small field clearance cairns.
A possible house (MA062-118002-), a mound (MA062-118003-), an enclosure (MA062-126----) and a possible cashel (MA062-119----) are located within the field system.
