The National Monuments Service's description

This cashel is not indicated on the 1838 and 1929 OS 6-inch maps. Roughly oval or sub-rectangular area (32.6m NW–SE; 20m NE–SW) defined by a collapsed stone wall (Wth c. 2m; int. H 0.2-0.3m; ext. H 0.4-0.5m, 1.6m at S). For much of its circuit the wall is evident as a loose jumble of stone, largely obscured by overgrowth. A foundation course of large stones is visible on the W arc. Upstanding walling appears to be the result of modern rebuilding, or incorporation into a later system of straight field walls, and this gives the cashel its current almost rectangular outline.
The interior slopes down slightly from NW to SE; it is built up somewhat at S to compensate for the natural fall of ground. The surface is uneven and broken by large embedded boulders at NE, SW and W, and dotted with a few small heaps of loose stone. There is a souterrain (MA050-007002-) in the N of the interior, close to the enclosing wall.
Field walls, which abutted the cashel at S and W, have been removed, and heaps of field clearance stones are piled against the perimeter of the enclosure at N and E.
