The National Monuments Service's description
Located in a ringfort (MA050-006---). A souterrain was discovered to NW of centre in the interior of the ringfort during land reclamation works (SRM file: OPW field notes 1980). The displacement of a roofing lintel revealed a passage (L 4.6m NE–SW; Wth c. 0.75m; H c. 1-1.2m) with walls of drystone construction and lintel roofing. The passage was blocked at its NE end by collapsed soil. A creep was visible in the end wall at the SW, opening into a rectangular chamber, but a blockage in the creep prevented access to chamber. According to the report, the access hole to the souterrain was covered over. No trace of the souterrain is now evident at ground level.
