The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, close to the SE boundary of the townland, located on a knoll with a steep fall of ground to S giving good views over a flat expanse of bog and reclaimed pasture. There is a more gradual slope for 15-20m to NE–E to the banks of a stream.
Shown on the 1838 OS 6-inch map as a circular embanked enclosure (diam. c. 20m) and on the 1929 edition as an arc of hachuring curving NW–NE. A ‘cave’ or souterrain (MA050-005002-) is indicated on both map editions. This ringfort has been levelled; a slight undulation curving W–NE may preserve the outline of a levelled bank. A field fence on a NE–SW axis cuts across the location.
