The National Monuments Service's description

In pasture, located on a rise, providing good views, especially extensive to W. It is located on the SW boundary of the townland.
Raised roughly circular area (31.4m N−S; c. 28m E−W) defined by remnants of a bank. The bank is reduced to a scarp (Wth 3.7-4m; ext. H 1.5m at SSE, 1.9m at N−NW) with a slightly raised stony internal rim (max. H 0.3m, at SSE). At S−NW the scarp is truncated or incorporated into a field wall, which slightly respects the curve of the rath, outside which is a farm laneway. The scarp is rather dilapidated and uneven in its slope, especially on the N arc. The interior appears higher in the N half, sloping down from centre towards S. There is a slight hollow (c. 4m across) against the inner edge of the scarp at N. A ragged gap (Wth 3.5m) at E, sloping down to the exterior, may be the location of an original entrance.
Interior is grass-covered; moderate hawthorn and brambles around the perimeter. Large field clearance boulders have been pushed against the scarp at SE. There is a rath (MA040-023----) 140m to W, another (MA040-021001-) 350m to NW, and an enclosure (MA040-025----) 150m to SSE.
