The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, straddles a pronounced undulation or rise, providing good views, especially extensive to NW−N, but restricted by rising ground to SW.
Raised circular area (diam. 22-25m) defined by an earthen scarp. The scarp (H 1.5m at E, 1.8m at NW; ext. Wth slope 4m at NW, c. 3m at E) is well defined. It is lowest on the N arc, and has been eroded in parts here by farm stock. The interior slopes from the centre down towards the perimeter, particularly in the NE quadrant, mirroring the natural undulations of the rise on which the rath is located. The interior is largely obscured by gorse and brambles. A number of field clearance boulders are scattered through the interior. There is a rath (MA040-024----) 140m to E, and another (MA040-021001-) 200m to NW, both visible from this one.
