The National Monuments Service's description

In pasture, prominently sited on a rise, with a gradual fall of ground to W, and a steeper fall to E. The location provides good views, especially eastwards over lowlying, damp pastures.
Slightly raised broadly oval area (33.2m N–S; 37-38m E-W) enclosed by an earthen bank (Wth c. 5m; int. H 0.8m; ext. H 1.4m at S, at least 2m at E) with an external fosse (Wth 4m; D 0.7m at S). The fosse is most clearly defined at SW–NW, where its outer edge is bordered by a later field fence; elsewhere around the circuit it is evident as a very shallow depression. There are narrow, eroded breaks in the bank at S (Wth 0.7m), NNW, and NE (Wth 1.4m). A broader gap (Wth 3m) at SE may indicate the original entrance. Two boulders are located in the interior immediately adjacent to the N side of this gap, and another very large boulder is located against the inner face of the bank at W. The interior has a very slight slope down from centre to SE. The rath is ringed with blackthorn and brambles. There is a rath (MA039-012----) c. 230m to W, and a possible rath (MA039-011----) c. 290m to NW.
