The National Monuments Service's description

Located in a rath (MA031-040). According to local information, there was ‘a hole lined with stones’ in the N end of the rath. This was still visible in the mid 20th century, but was not evident when the rath was inspected in 1995. It may relate to a shallow linear depression (L 4m; Wth 1.4m), with a low, raised lip on the W side, which is located where the interior ground level is highest in the NW of the rath interior. An unenclosed souterrain (MA031-039----) is located c. 50m to N of the rath.
