The National Monuments Service's description

Located on an elevation, in an expanse of gently undulating, damp pasture, bordered 200m NW by the Brusna River, and 370m to SE by the Glenree River. There is an E−W road immediately to S.
Raised ovoid area (29.5m NW-SE; 22m NE-SW), narrowest at NW end, defined by earthen bank (Wth 4m–4.6m; int. H 0.2m at SW, 0.65 m at NE; ext. H 1.45m at NE, 1.7m at SW). A field fence, oriented NE-SW, cuts across the bank at NW. The interior slopes down gently from NW to SE. In the highest part at NW, there is a shallow linear depression (L 4m; Wth 1.4m) with a low, raised lip on the W side, which may mark the location of a possible souterrain (MA040001-). There is a sub-circular area (6m NE-SW; 7m NW-SE) defined by a slight, gapped rise/bank located against the inner face of the bank to SSW; it is barely discernible and of uncertain significance. There are several eroded gaps in the bank, the largest (Wth 1.5m) to SE may be the original entrance, or the entrance may have been at E, where there is a low section of bank (L 6m), towards which there is a marked slope in the interior. Interior is grass-covered; perimeter is ringed with hawthorn and gorse.
