On a rise in average to poorly drained pasture.
A circular, embanked enclosure (diam. c. 20m) is shown on the 1837 OS 6-inch map at this location; it is not shown on later map editions. There is no visible trace of an enclosure at ground level. There is no visible trace of an enclosure at ground level. At the location there is a low natural rise/small hillock (overall diam. c. 50m) with a flattish top (diam. c. 15) and broadly sloping sides, steepest at N and S. There is a roughly circular, grassed-over depression/pit (diam. 15-20m) in the NW slope of the rise, which according to local information is an old sand pit.
