The National Monuments Service's description
In wet pasture at edge of conifer plantation and 60m S of a stream that marks the townland boundary with Ballylanders. Enclosure (LI049-183----) lies 200m to SW. Annotated 'Knockeenacartan' on the 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch map where it is shown as a circular enclosure. Shown on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map as a raised roughly oval-shaped area (dims. c. 40m NE-SW; 32m NW-SE) defined by a scarp and intersected at S by field boundary running E-W. Monument is visible on Digital Globe orthoimage taken between 2011-13 and on Google Earth orthoimages.
