The National Monuments Service's description

In reclaimed pasture 125m N of a watercourse. Depicted on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map as a raised roughly circular-shaped area (diam. c. 16m) defined by a scarp with fosse from S-N-NE. Intersected at W-N-NE by a field boundary following the curve of the monument. Visited by Celie O’Rahilly, archaeologist for Limerick Corporation, in 1994 when described as a slightly raised area (diam c. 15m) enclosed by a well defined bank with traces of an outer fosse to NE and W with entrance at S. Barry (1981, 84) listed the monument as a possible moated site. Only the curving field boundary at N remains upstanding of this levelled enclosure which is visible on Google Earth orthoimages. A preservation order was placed in this monument in October 1994.
