The National Monuments Service's description

In marshy area liable to flooding, c. 60m S of river and c. 20m E of tributary stream flowing N into river. Irregular area (27.6m N-S; 25m E-W) enclosed by earth-and-stone bank (int. H 0.6m; ext. H 1.05m), except SW->NW where defined by steep scarped edge (H 2.8m; Wth 2m). Scarp is inside arc of bank and probably resulted from erosion of enclosure's edge. Both scarp and bank on W side are faced with coursed limestone blocks, probably to prevent further erosion. Bank worn down in many places by cattle tracks. North half of interior and enclosing element on that side are covered by dense overgrowth. May be an animal pen associated with ruined 19th century farmstead which lies c. 50m to S.
