The National Monuments Service's description
In flat pasture, 100m E of townland boundary with Dunkip. Enclosures (LI031-062002-/003-/004-) located within this field system. Pattern of rectilinear cropmarks, some perpendicular to each other, identified in 1986 from examination of aerial photographs of the region during work on the Bórd Gáis Éireann Curraleigh West-Limerick gas pipeline (Map 6, Site 6/21). Field boundaries and Ordnance Survey Trig. Station point indicated on the 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch map. Pre-development archaeological testing carried out in 1999 by Rose Cleary to the SE of the field system ‘did not uncover any archaeological remains or finds’ (Cleary 2000, 163; www.excavations.ie 1999 Entry No. 492). Field system visible as linear cropmarks on OSi orthophotographs taken between 2005-2012 and on Google Earth orthoimages dated 20/09/2020 and 25/03/2017. Field system may be associated with the enclosures visible on aerial photographs (ASIAP (329) 4) taken 05/10/2002.
