The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, on gently-undulating terrain. This site is depicted as a square (L c. 20m) embanked enclosure on the 1841 OS 6-inch map but as a circular mound (diam. c. 10m) on the 1923 OS 6-inch map. It now takes the form of a sub-rectangular earthen mound (H 2.35m; 16.5m N-S; 14m E-W) at the NE corner of which is the remains of the N end of a rectangular structure (1.5m N-S; 1.6m E-W). This is built of roughly coursed mortared stonework (H 0.98m Wth 0.5m). A low dry-stone wall (H 0.34m; Wth 1.4m) runs on N-S axis for c. 5.6m immediately to the S of the structure. There is an ovoid depression (3m N-S; 2m E-W; D 0.37m) immediately to the W of the dry-stone wall. Otherwise the top of the mound is covered by an impenetrable thicket of briars though it is evident that a lot of stones are littered about its surface.
