The National Monuments Service's description
Close to NE corner of a peninsula called Moreena Point that projects from S shore of Shannon estuary. Square (c. 3m x c. 3.5m) stone-built structure which has collapsed and is covered by overgrowth. South wall is best preserved (H c. 1.6m; Wth c. 0.6m) and at c. 1.2m from ground is rectangular opening (0.3m x 0.2m). According to local information it stood to 'about 12 feet' until burnt in 1930s, and again collapsed further more recently. Marked as 'in ruins' on 1841 OS 6-inch map.
