The National Monuments Service's description

Reference by Rev. L. P. Murray (1935, 233) to 'an old thatched chapel at Coolfore' during Penal times. Field inspection carried out by ASI in 1965 noted that a local woman was told by her great grandmother of its existence, but the precise location is not known.
